He said it looked screwed up when he was viewing the text. So, I looked at the theme in all the browsers I could install and sure enough, on IE, there was a flicker that I didn't see when putting the theme together. Good call Simen. So I created two more variations of the theme, one without the image and one with a white background and black border. The cool thing about themes is they are completely customizable. If there something you don't like, remove it. But in the case where you don't have control over how it looks, as was the case with my theme, and blog, it does hurt the eyes to read.
